How the calculation works
Add the three digits of a panel and keep only the last digit of the total — that is the ank. Example: 389 → 3+8+9 = 20 → ank 0. The open ank and close ank written together make the jodi, and the complete result is written as open panel – jodi – close panel, for example 389-07-458.
